Lincoln – Mary A. (Little) Olson, 89, of Lincoln, passed away peacefully, Sunday, August 25, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late Harry H. Olson.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Francis T. and Mary (Murphy) Little, she had lived in Lincoln for the past fifty years.
Mrs. Olson worked as a licensed practical nurse at Women & Infants Hospital, retiring in 1992. She was a graduate of Central High School and the St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing.
She also enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing bridge, going to movies, reading, and spending time with her grandsons and her nieces and nephews. Her sense of humor and positive outlook on life will be remembered by all.
She was a communicant of the Historic Saint Joseph Church, Cumberland, where she was a member of the forty-week club, and co-chair of the Annual Parish Flea Market for many years.
She is survived by two daughters, Lenora M. Olson, and her husband James M. Brandi, of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Nancy J. Olson of Smithfield; one son, John H. Olson, and his wife Lillian, of Pawtucket; one sister, Elizabeth A. Procaccini of Cranston; two brothers, the Hon. Joseph T. Little of Lincoln, and Edward T. Little of Warren; two grandsons, Jeffrey J. Olson, and Gregory S. Olson, and his fiancée, Barbara Giarratano; her friend Joseph Bruno, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Hon. Francis E. Little.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, August 30, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in Historic Saint Joseph Church, 1303 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will follow in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call Thursday, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory to the R.I. Community Food Bank, 200 Niantic Avenue, 02907 would be appreciated.
