Lincoln – Mario Polidoro, 85, of Betty Street, died Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at Golden Crest Nursing Centre, North Providence. He was the beloved husband of Pasqualina (Raus) Polidoro. Mr. & Mrs. Polidoro had been married for fifty-five years.
Born in Minturno, Italy, a son of the late Federico and Palmerina (Sorgente) Polidoro, he immigrated to the United States in 1966, settling in Stamford, Connecticut, and moved to Lincoln seventeen years ago.
Mr. Polidoro worked in Facilities Management for Pitney-Bowes in Stamford for thirty years before retiring.
He was a former member of the Minturno Social Club, Stamford, and enjoyed growing vegetables and flowers in his gardens.
An Italian Army veteran, he served as a munitions expert, attaining the rank of Sergeant.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Frank Polidoro, and his wife Paulette, of Cumberland; and two grandchildren, Frank M. Polidoro and Angela M. Polidoro. He was the brother of the late Francesco Polidoro and Antoinetta Susca.
His funeral will be held Monday, November 5, 2018 at 8:30 a.m. from Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with the celebration of a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Saint John Vianney Church, 3655 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Entombment will follow in the Redwood Mausoleum at Swan Point Cemetery, Providence. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call Monday morning from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m.
