Pawtucket – Larry K. Berg, 67, of Rose Drive, died Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, in Providence. He was the beloved husband of Beverly A. (Schofield) Berg. Mr. & Mrs. Berg had been together for fifty-two years and married for forty-five years.
Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Kenneth G. and Jean M. (Russell) Berg, he had lived in the city for most of his life.
Mr. Berg worked as a foreman & machine operator for the Providence & Worcester Railroad, retiring in 2003.
He was a graduate of Tolman High School, in Pawtucket. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam War.
He loved to play the drums, and was a big fan of The Beatles. He enjoyed going fishing, clamming and quahogging, and took great pride in maintaining his yard.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Berg, and her significant other Michael Fernandes, of Pawtucket, and Amanda Loiselle, and her husband Adam, of Scituate; one sister, Cheryl Curti of Pawtucket; one brother, Gary Berg of Pawtucket; and three grandchildren, Kailee Loiselle, Kyle Loiselle, and Ruby Fernandes. He was the father of the late Jessica Berg & the brother of the late Susan Allison.
His funeral service will be Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Historic Swan Point Chapel, 585 Blackstone Boulevard, Providence. Burial will follow in Swan Point Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday, December 3, 2019 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln.
