Pawtucket – Joseph A. Teixeira, 76, of Second Street, died Thursday, June 13, 2019 at the Miriam Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Gendron) Teixeira. Mr. & Mrs. Teixeira had been married for fifty-three years.
Born at Memorial Hospital in Pawtucket, a son of the late Manuel and Clare (Robinson) Teixeira, he had lived in Pawtucket for over fifty years.
Mr. Teixeira was a salesman for Providence Beverage Co. for over thirty years before retiring
He was a drummer and bandleader for many years and had a deep passion for music.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Joseph A. Teixeira of South Attleboro, Massachusetts, and Mark S. Teixeira of Lincoln; one sister, Kathleen Vincent of Cumberland; and one granddaughter, Jocelyn Teixeira. He was the brother of the late Linda Marcotrigiano.
His funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call Monday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to Donate Life America, 701 East Byrd Street, 16th Floor, Richmond, VA 23219 would be appreciated.
