Lincoln – Joseph P. Marsella, 61, of Pat Drive, died Friday, May 4, 2018, at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Martin) Marsella. Mr. & Mrs. Marsella had been married for thirty-four years.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Americo and Anna (Piccirillo) Marsella, he had lived in Lincoln for the past twenty years, previously residing in Pawtucket.
Mr. Marsella worked as a Mechanical Engineer at the former Marshall and Williams, and later for Celeros, before retiring due to illness. He was a graduate, with an Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Community College of Rhode Island.
He enjoyed fixing classic cars, and loved going on cruise nights in Cumberland. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying mountain bike riding and kayaking, and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Krystyna Marsella, and her fiancé Matthew Maxwell, of Providence, Karen Ricciardelli, and her husband Jonathan, of Mansfield, Massachusetts, and Elizabeth Marsella, and her fiancé Stephen MacMillan, of West Wareham, Massachusetts; four sisters, Elizabeth Sadowski of New Jersey, Ann Quaedvlieg of Warren, Marguerite Odeh of Lincoln, and Mary Porcaro of Lincoln; one brother, Stephen Marsella of North Providence; and one granddaughter, Haley Grace MacMillan.
His funeral will be celebrated Monday, May 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call prior to the service from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. His burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Avenue, Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266 would be appreciated.
