Pawtucket – John W. Elliott, 62, of Main Street, died Monday, February 4, 2019, at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Boston.
Born in Providence, a son of Doris M. (Turbitt) Elliott of East Providence, and the late Milton A. Elliott, he had lived in Pawtucket for the past five years.
Mr. Elliott worked as a laborer for various companies and factories in both the construction and commercial industries, and served in the military as a U.S Marine, where he obtained automotive mechanic training and experience. He volunteered his time with the Chinese Christian Church of Rhode Island, helping to maintain the church and cemetery, and was always willing to help members of the parish on various types of projects. John enjoyed building models, watching his favorite TV programs, and exercising, along with a brief amateur boxing career.
Besides his mother, he is survived by three brothers, James D. Elliott of Barrington, Thomas M. Elliott of Riverside, and Timothy A. Elliott of North Attleboro, Massachusetts. He was the brother of the late Milton A. Elliott.
A Celebration of his life will be held Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chinese Christian Church of Rhode Island, 333 Roosevelt Avenue, Pawtucket. Burial will follow in the Chinese Christian Cemetery, Riverside. All relatives and friends are invited who want to be a part of John’s Memorial Service. Directions to the burial site will be provided at the Church service. Arrangements with Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln.
