Helder A. deSena

Pawtucket – Helder A. deSena, 71, of Pawtucket passed away peacefully Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Roger Williams Medical Center, Providence. He was the domestic partner of Margarita Carvalho.

   Born in Cape Verde, a son of the late Joao T. and Belmira (Anahory) deSena, he moved from Cape Verde to Norway as a political refugee before coming to the United States. He had lived in Pawtucket for over 20 years.  Mr. deSena was a counselor at CODAC for 14 years before retiring.

   Besides Margarita, he is survived by one daughter, Rosanna Einvik deSena of Norway; nine brothers and sisters, Maria Nunes, Helena Nunes, Henriquetta Galvao, Adelaide Pinto, Rita Barbosa, Madelena Schofield, Eunyce Faria, Mario deSena and Francisco; one granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Onelia Melo.
