George McIntosh
December 24, 1931 ~ April 9, 2017 (age 85) 85 Years OldNorth Providence – George McIntosh, 85, of McGuire Road, died Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, North Providence. He was the beloved husband of Vivian (Harris) McIntosh and the late Helen (Carney) McIntosh.
Born in Providence, a son of the late George and Anna (Morris) McIntosh, he had lived in North Providence for the past forty-six years.
Mr. McIntosh was the owner of the former Star Floor Surfacing before retiring. He was a communicant of St. Anthony Church, and a former member of the St. Lawrence Council, Knights of Columbus, both of North Providence.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Helen Barone of Warwick; three sons, Kevin W. McIntosh of North Providence, Brian J. McIntosh of California, and George McIntosh, Jr. of Coventry; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late William McIntosh.
His funeral will be held Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. from Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with a Funeral Liturgy at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 1413 Mineral Spring Avenue, North Providence. Private burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call Wednesday from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
