Hobe Sound, FL – Edmund A. Macksoud, 72, of Hobe Sound, FL and formerly of North Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully Monday, August 7, 2017 in Stuart, FL. He was the beloved husband of 51 years to Joanne (Poynton) Macksoud, and the loving father of Lisa Macksoud-Butkus and the loving grandfather of Madison Butkus, both of Attleboro, MA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and by his best friend, Kadee, his dog.

   Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Edmund J. and Evelyn (Gouveia) Macksoud, he had lived in North Attleboro, MA for 25 years before moving to Pawtucket for 4 years. He has lived in Hobe Sound, FL for the past 17 years.

   Ed was the National Sales Manager for Uncas Manufacturing, Providence for 30 years before retiring.

   A very active tennis player, Ed was a member and Past President of the Abbott Run Valley Club in Cumberland, where he, and his wife Joanne, also served as Directors of Tennis. He was also a Vice President of the Cumberland-Lincoln Jaycees, and a Vice President of the Blackstone Valley Tennis Association. Ed served as Director of Tennis, with his wife, Joanne, of the Pawtucket Parks and Recreation Youth Tennis Program.

   He was a former member of Lafayette Lodge #47, F. & A.M., Cumberland and served in Rhode Island Army National Guard.

   A Celebration of Ed’s Life will be held Saturday, August 26 from 1–5 P.M. with a Prayer Service at 4:30 P.M. at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln.
