Lincoln - Doris Rejane (Michaud) Robidoux, 83, of Manville died August 21 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. Born Sept. 19, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Albini and Louise L. (Adam) Michaud and the wife of the late Robert E. Robidoux to whom she was married for 42 years before his passing in 2003.
A graduate of St. Clare High School, Woonsocket, Doris received her training as a licensed vocational nurse at Holy Ghost Hospital in Cambridge, Mass. and completed her training as a registered nurse at Framingham Union Hospital. In 1982 she graduated summa cum laude from Salve Regina University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Doris worked for 22 years at Woonsocket Hospital, now Landmark Medical Center, primarily in the cardiac care unit. She was proud to be a leader in establishing the cardiac rehabilitation program there. She continued her career with the Visiting Nurse Services of Greater Woonsocket until her retirement to care for her husband. Doris had a special love and affinity for hospice patients and answered the call any time of the day or night.
She is survived by her daughter, Gayle Ann Cook and her husband, Gregory of San Antonio, TX; her son, Gary G. Robidoux and his wife, Lianne Themuda, of Cranston; her grandson, Garrison Robidoux; her sister, Noella B. Bessette and her husband, Normand of Cumberland; her brother-in-law, George W. Perron and his wife, Therese of Franklin, Mass.; and several devoted nieces and nephews as well as many wonderful friends. She was the sister of the late Leona L. Perron.
Relatives and friends may call Saturday from 9:30-10:30 A.M. at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road Lincoln, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. in St. James Church, 33 Division St., Manville. Her burial will be private.
