Providence – David A. Fournier, 63, of Providence passed away peacefully Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Linda L. (Gower) Fournier.
A lifelong resident of Providence, he was a son of the late Louis L. and Gertrude (Zym) Fournier.
David was a plumber for many years, working for Roto-Rooter, Gem Plumbing and Mr. Rooter before becoming self-employed. He was also a master carpenter, cabinet maker and painter.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in the Vietnam War and a member of Ocean State Baptist Church, Smithfield.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his four loving children, Rachel A. Forsberg, Katrina L. Fournier and David A. Fournier, all of California, and Raymond L. Fournier of West Warwick; his two sisters, Audrey Medeiros of Wyoming, RI and Karen Rapoza of Lincoln; his three brothers, Robert Fournier of East Providence, Louis Fournier of Hope Valley and Michael Fournier of Cranston; his two beloved granddaughters, Arianna and Sabrina; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Russell and Richard Fournier.
His funeral service will be held Monday, January 7 at 10 A.M. at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial, with military honors, will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery.
