Carol A. (Gouveia) Fournier

Woonsocket – Carol A. (Gouveia) Fournier, 82, of Woonsocket and formerly of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Oakland Grove Health Center, Woonsocket surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Robert G. Fournier and the late Jerry Johnson.

   Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Frank and Frances (Bisaillon) Gouveia, she had lived in Pawtucket for most of her life before moving to Woonsocket over 4 years ago.

   Mrs. Fournier was an inspector and spooler for the former Glencairn Manufacturing Company, Pawtucket before retiring.

   She is survived by one son Jerry “Steven” Johnson (Gloria) of Oakley, CA; two daughters, Monica Crowe (Joseph) and Melanie Fournier (Jason Szpila), both of Cumberland; one sister, Irene Basiliere of Florida and formerly of Pawtucket; one brother, George Gouveia of Smithfield; eight grandchildren, Christopher Johnson, John Paul Silva, Jessica Rezendes, Jerry Johnson Jr., Jessica Crowe, Meghan Wenz, Dylan Wenz and Josephine Szpila; twelve great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Frank Gouveia, Robert Gouveia and Shirley Gouveia.

   Her funeral will be celebrated Tuesday, September 24 with visitation from 8:30 – 9:45 A.M. at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. in St. Jude’s Church, 301 Front Street, Lincoln. Her burial will be private.
