Lincoln – Bruce E. “Papa” Andrews, 71, of Lincoln passed away Monday, September 17, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Linda C. (Lomax) Andrews. Bruce and Linda celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past May 30.
Born in Pawtucket, a son of Marion F. (Bennett) Andrews of Lincoln and the late Earl R. Andrews, Sr., he had lived in Lincoln all of his life.
He was the purchasing agent for the former Fram Corporation, East Providence for 32 years before retiring in 1998. He later worked in the same capacity for NEPTCO, Pawtucket for 12 years, retiring in 2012.
Bruce was a member of the Saylesville Fire Department for 45 years, where he retired as Deputy Chief.
He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Lincoln where he was the Treasurer for many years and served on all of its committees.
He was a 1968 graduate of Bryant College receiving his B.S. Degree in Accounting.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by his two loving daughters, Nancy Andrews and Tracy Maziarz and her husband, Michael; his two brothers, Earl R. “Bud” Andrews, Jr. and Albion Fire Chief Richard A. Andrews; his beloved granddaughters, Abigail, Sydney and Elizabeth Maziarz, all of Lincoln; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held Saturday, September 22 at 10 A.M. in Wesley United Methodist Church, 55 Woodland Street, Lincoln. His burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
