Lincoln – Anna J. (Verdon) Tucker, 91, of Lincoln passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Alvin R. Tucker. Mr. and Mrs. Tucker just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this past September 19.
A lifelong resident of Lincoln, she was a daughter of the late George W. and Kathleen M. (Keaney) Verdon.
Mrs. Tucker was a clerk for the former New England Telephone Company for 19 years before retiring in 1974.
She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Lime Rock Fire Department, the “Limerockers”, the Lime Rock Grange, and the Blackstone Valley Historical Society. She also was a member and program chairman of the Pawtucket Chapter #1192, AARP. She and her husband were avid duckpin bowlers.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her loving daughter, Cheryl A. Aldrich and her husband, Gary; and her loving grandson, Justin Aldrich, all of Lincoln. She is also survived by two brothers, James K. Verdon and his wife, Jean of Tilton, NH and John M. Verdon and his wife, Thelma of Lincoln; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joseph K. Verdon, Kathleen Rivet, George W. Verdon, Jr. and Susan W. Verdon.
Her funeral service will be held Saturday, November 3 at 11 A.M. at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.
