Russell E. Dooley

March 7, 1927 ~ April 28, 2017 (age 90) 90 Years Old

Pawtucket – Russell E. Dooley, 90, formerly of Mill Street, died Friday, April 28, 2017 at the Pawtucket Center, Pawtucket.  He was the husband of the late Florence A. (Jordan) Dooley.

Born in South Attleboro, MA, a son of the late James C. and Edna (Brierley) Dooley, he had lived in Pawtucket for the past sixty-four years.

Mr. Dooley worked as a roofer for the former Kellaghan Roofing for forty years, retiring in 1989.

A U.S. Navy veteran, he served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Hollister and U.S.S. Winston, and had been stationed at Naval Air Station Pearl Harbor.

He is survived by three sons, Russell E. Dooley, Jr. of Smithfield, Paul Dooley of Seekonk, and Jeffrey Dooley of Pawtucket; one brother Vernon Dooley of Norfolk, VA; three grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.  He was the grandfather of the late Gregory A. Dooley, and the brother of the late James Dooley, Sidney Dooley, Clifford Dooley, Donald Dooley, Florence Jadach, Edna Fielding, Beverly Walton and Muriel Carpenter.

His funeral service and burial will be private, at the convenience of the family.  Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the Salvation Army, Pawtucket Corps, 102 High Street, Pawtucket, R.I. 02860 would be appreciated.  Arrangements with Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln.
