Albion – Rene L. LeJeune, 89, formerly of Albion, died Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Roger Williams Medical Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Lillian (Collier) LeJeune.
Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Louis and Loretta (Jette) LeJeune, he had lived in Albion for fifty years, prior to moving to Johnston. He was a graduate of Central Falls High School.
Mr. LeJeune worked as the Personnel Director, and later as Plant Manager for Tupperware, retiring in 1984.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served as an M.P. in the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina during the Korean War.
He was an avid reader, golfer and sports fan as well as a talented woodworker who enjoyed making furniture, particularly for his family.
He is survived by two daughters, Loreen E. LeJeune of Arlington, Massachusetts and L. Anne LeJeune of Everett, Washington and nieces Christine Faucher of North Providence and Michelle Merola of Lincoln. He was the brother of the late Armand LeJeune and Muriel (LeJeune) Faucher.
His funeral service will be celebrated Monday, March 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 245 Waterman Avenue, Suite 306, Providence, R.I. 02906 would be appreciated.
