Manville – Placide V. Desrosiers, 93, of Spring Street, died Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Holiday Retirement Home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Juliette (Letendre) Desrosiers. Mr. & Mrs. Desrosiers had been married for sixty-six years.
Born in Albion, a son of the late Eugene and Arselia (Pelletier) Desrosiers, he had lived in Manville for the past sixty-six years.
Mr. Desrosiers worked as a weaver at various mills retiring in 1990.
He was a former member of the Albion Social Club, and a communicant of St. James Church, Manville.
He was an avid woodworker, creating furniture and various items for his family in his spare time.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Lucille Peloquin, and her husband Raymond of Warwick, and Denise Desrosiers of Manville; one brother, Amedee Desrosiers of Masseuville, Quebec, Canada; two grandchildren, Kenneth Peloquin, and his wife Kristen, and Karen Terwilliger, and her husband Edward; and three grandchildren, Connor Peloquin, Zoe Peloquin and Zachary Peloquin. He was the brother of the late Rose-Aimee Desrosiers, Louis-Aime Desrosiers, Lucien Desrosiers, Jean-Paul Desrosiers and Therese Desrosiers.
His funeral will be held Friday, January 26, 2018 at 8:45 a.m. from Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln, with the celebration of a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. James Church, 33 Division Street, Manville. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manville. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call Thursday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
