Providence – Meredyth Clark Church, 70, of Providence passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Hope Hospice & Palliative Care, Providence surrounded by her loving family. She was the matriarch of her family and the light of their eyes.  Her infinite love and wisdom will guide her loved ones through and she will be deeply and forever missed.

   Born in Providence and raised in Lincoln, she was a daughter of the late Nelson R. and Marion L. (Worthington) Church and had lived in Providence for the past 31 years.

   Meredyth received her Bachelor’s degree from Bryant University.  She was a real estate professional most of her life and in the late 1960’s started with a land development company in Florida and the Bahamas as Assistant to the President of Land Sales. She returned to Rhode Island in the late 1970’s as the Director of Sales for several developments with a focus on Providence, the East Side, Barrington, Bristol, Warren and Portsmouth in high end luxury condominium and home sales. She was an active Broker Associate with Residential Properties, Ltd. on the East Side of Providence and held sales licenses in Massachusetts and Florida.

   She was currently a City of Providence Planning Commissioner and had served on the boards of Big Sisters of RI and The All Children’s Theater.  Professionally, she served on the boards of the RI Association of Realtors and the Greater Board of Providence Realtors. Her personal interests included hiking along the Nob in Falmouth, Cape Cod with her best friend of 60 years, Priscilla Erickson, her beloved dogs, horseback riding, sailing and being anywhere near the ocean.

   She is survived by her five sisters, Cynthia Famiglietti of Barrington, Louisa Randall Church of East Greenwich, Martha Church Lapierre of Fort Myers, FL, Susan W. Capuano of Fort Myers, FL and Middletown, and Elizabeth Taft O’Donnell of Bridgton, ME; her brother, Nelson Randall Church, Jr. of Center Conway, NH; several nieces and nephews; a great niece and great nephews and many loving cousins.

   At Meredyth’s request, her services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory to VCA POVAR Animal Hospital, 15 First Street, East Providence, RI 02914 would be appreciated for those less fortunate animals.  For Guest Book, please visit www.bellowsfuneralchapel.com.
