Lincoln – Margaret E. “Peg” (Carter) Hatch, 92, of Lincoln and Islesboro, ME, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017 at her summer home in Islesboro, ME. She was the wife of the late Otis Hatch.

   A lifelong resident of Lincoln, who summered in Islesboro, ME for the past 40 years, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Mary C. (Morrison) Carter.

   Mrs. Hatch was a teacher’s aide in the Culinary Arts Program at Davies Vocational Technical School, Lincoln for 20 years retiring in 1987. As part of the Davies Culinary Program, she managed the RI State House Kitchen. She previously worked for the Lincoln School Lunch Program.

   She was renowned for her quilts having handmade over 100 quilts since 1989, and was a member of the Cumberland Friendship Quilters Guild. She also enjoyed gardening.

   She was a longtime member of Chapel Street Congregational Church, Lincoln.

   Mrs. Hatch is survived by one daughter, Janet E. Hatch (John Wolfe) of East Greenwich; two sons, Donald R. Hatch (Linda) of Lincoln and Kenneth W. Hatch (Cathy Chagra) of Smithville, TX; one sister, Mary Ethel Vaughn of San Juan Capistrano, CA; two grandchildren, Sarah K. Hatch-Mahler and Nathan A. Hatch (Shannon); and four great granddaughters, Zoe, Cecilia, Naomi and Iona. She also leaves her cherished step grandchildren, Nicole, Casey, Corey, Raven and Vivian and their children, Brody, Nora, Patrick, Kyzer and Bronson.

   Her Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 16 at 2 P.M. in Chapel Street Congregational Church, 185 Chapel Street, Lincoln. Following her Memorial Service, a Celebration of Peg’s Life will be held at J. Gray’s Family Tavern, 405 Mendon Road, Cumberland from 3-7 P.M. Her burial will be private. Calling Hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Hatch’s memory to Chapel Street Congregational Church, 185 Chapel Street, Lincoln, RI 02865 would be appreciated.
