Pawtucket – John A. Kamps, 56, of Pawtucket passed away peacefully Sunday, August 27, 2017 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence surrounded by his loving family.
A lifelong resident of Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Robert L. and Hope F. (Ohlson) Kamps.
John was a machine operator for Millard Wire Company, Warwick before retiring. Previously he had worked as a cook at the former Alexion’s Restaurant in Pawtucket.
He was a member of Covenant Congregational Church, Pawtucket. He served in the Rhode Island Army National Guard.
John was very actively involved with the Attleboro Animal Center, Attleboro, MA.
He is survived by two sisters, Robin L. McCarron and Lori J. Ayotte, both of Harrisville; two brothers, Robert L. Kamps, Jr. of Pawtucket and Christopher R. Kamps of Newport; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral held Friday, September 1 at 12:30 P.M. in Covenant Congregational Church, 143 Glenwood Avenue, Pawtucket. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Pawtucket.
