Greenville – James Procter, 94, formerly of Cumberland, died Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Landmark Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Alice (Bloomer) Procter.
Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Henry and Ethel (Wilde) Procter, he had lived in Cumberland for forty-three years, moving to Florida, and later Greenville.
Mr. Procter was a mechanic for Corning Glass Works for thirty-seven years, retiring in 1983.
A U.S. Navy Veteran, he served during World War II. He was a former member of Barney Merry Lodge #29, F. & A.M., and a former member of St. George’s Episcopal Church, Central Falls.
He is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Alves of North Providence, and Jody Lesieur of Greenville; three sons, Warren Procter of Cumberland, Douglas Procter of East Providence, and Steven Procter of Johnston; one brother Frederick Procter of Pawtucket; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
His Funeral Service will be celebrated Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 11:00 in Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the American Brain Tumor Association, 8550 W.
