Manville – Irma (Palazzini) Tomassini, 98, of Manville passed away peacefully Monday, November 6, 2017 at Oakland Grove Health Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late Evaristo “John” Tomassini. They were married 75 years when he died in February 2016.

A lifelong resident of Manville, she was a daughter of the late Mariano and Albina (Savelli) Palazzini.

Mrs. Tomassini worked at the former Berkshire-Hathaway Mills, Albion and the former Manville-Jencks Company, Manville before retiring.

She and her late husband, John, were wonderful dancers – a very handsome couple on the dance floor.

She truly enjoyed being with her family and since all her siblings predeceased her, she really missed them and she wished she could be with them. Now she is reunited with all of them, her husband, John, and their baby son, John.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Helen Canestrari, Innes Pelletier, Mary Bois, Rica Bacchiochi, Nella Marcil, Ada Spyrka and Livio Palazzini.

Her funeral will be held Friday, November 10, 2017 at 8:30 A.M. from Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in St. James Church, 33 Division Street, Manville. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Manville.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday 4-7 P.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Tomassini’s memory to Alzheimer’s Association, RI Chapter, 245 Waterman Street, Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906 would be appreciated.
