Eileen M. Lyon
December 13, 1928 ~ January 14, 2018 (age 89) 89 Years OldLincoln – Eileen (Mulraney) Lyon, 89, of Front Street, formerly of Cumberland, died Sunday, January 14, 2018, surrounded by her loving family, at the Holiday Retirement Home, Manville. She was the beloved wife of the late George A. Lyon.
Born in Central Falls, a daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Lafontaine) Mulraney, she had lived in Pawtucket and Cumberland, before moving to Lincoln ten years ago.
Mrs. Lyon worked as a medical assistant before retiring. She was a member of St. Aidan’s Seniors and St. Patrick’s Seniors, Cumberland, and was a communicant of St. Aidan Church, Cumberland.
She is survived by one daughter, Kathleen A. McCaughey of Lincoln; one son, Robert M. Lyon of Lincoln; four grandchildren, Kristen Lowe, Kerri Caetano, and her husband Dan, Branden Lyon and Kayla Lyon; five great grandchildren, Addison, Bella, Mallory, Jenna and Tucker; and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Mark T. Lyon, the mother-in-law of the late Chief John B. McCaughey, Jr; and the sister of the late Mary McElroy, Catherine Stock, and Edith Evatt.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Aidan Church, 1460 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. Her burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN, 38148-0142 would be appreciated. Arrangements with Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln.
