Lincoln – Edward S. “Bud” Angell, 90, formerly of Old Louisquisset Pike, died Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the Village at Waterman Lake, Greenville, surrounded by his loving family.  He was the beloved husband of Betty Ann (Wood) Angell.  Mr. & Mrs. Angell would have celebrated their 67th anniversary this Saturday.

Born in Cumberland, a son of the late John S. and Ruth (Fleming) Angell, he had lived in Lincoln for most of his life.

Mr. Angell was the President of L. Sweet Lumber Co., Providence, before retiring.

He was a member of Christ Church, Lincoln, where he had served on the Vestry and as Senior Warden.  He was a founder and member of the board of directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Cumberland-Lincoln, and a former member and past master of Unity Lodge #34, F. & A.M., Cumberland.

A World War II veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre.  After his discharge from the Navy, he graduated from Bryant College, Class of 1948.

Besides his wife, he is survived by six daughters, Nancy Sullivan (Michael), Susan Shey (John), Deborah Bessette (Jay), Lee Ann Bessette (Vincent), and Barbara Kelley (John), all of Lincoln, and Melissa MacDonald (John) of Scituate; one son, Edward S. Angell, Jr. (Janie) of Smithfield; one sister, Elizabeth Hunter of Stuart, FL; nineteen grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren.  He was the brother of the late Edith Jackson, Dorothy Campbell, and Carolyn Baird.

A Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in Christ Church, 1643 Lonsdale Avenue, Lincoln.  Relatives and friends are invited.  Visiting hours are respectfully omitted, and his burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the Christ Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 245, Lincoln, R.I. 02865 would be appreciated.  Arrangements with Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln.
