Lincoln – Edmond “Pete” A. Lussier, 86, of Lincoln, died Sunday, February 18, 2018, at the Holiday Retirement Home, Manville. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy “Dot” L. (Downie) Lussier. Mr. & Mrs. Lussier celebrated their sixty-sixth wedding anniversary on Friday, February 16th.
Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Edmond R. and Marie-Rose (Normand) Lussier, he had lived in Lincoln for the past forty-seven years.
He was a graduate of Central Falls High School, Class of 1949, where he was an All-State Baseball player, and played on the Basketball team. He was inducted as a member of the C.F.H.S. Hall of Fame. Upon graduation, he continued playing baseball as a Pitcher in the N. Y. Yankees organization from 1950-1954. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, serving in the Special Services.
After his discharge from the Army, Mr. Lussier worked as a Consumer Service Agent for Blackstone Valley Electric Co., retiring in 1995.
He was an avid duckpin bowler, and an avid golfer, playing for many years in the BVE Golf League at Chemawa Golf Course.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, David E. Lussier of Lincoln.
A Celebration of His Life will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Road, Lincoln. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call Tuesday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 931 Jefferson Boulevard, Suite 3004, Warwick, R.I. 02886 would be appreciated.
