Arshag H. Srabian

November 17, 1944 ~ April 21, 2017 (age 72) 72 Years Old

Rumford – Arshag H. Srabian, 72, of Martha Road, died Friday, April 21, 2017 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence.  He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Whatmough) Srabian.  Mr. & Mrs. Srabian had been married for forty-five years.

Born in Beirut, Lebanon, a son of the late Hovaness and Ana (Adisian) Srabian, he immigrated to the United States in 1963, settling in Lincoln, and had lived in Rumford for the past forty-two years.

Mr. Srabian worked in customer service for the former New York Lace Store, Zayre’s, and most recently at Home Depot, Attleboro.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, serving as an interpreter aboard the U.S.S. Norfolk.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Tanya A. Botelho of East Providence; one son, Michael J. Srabian of Rumford; and two grandchildren.  He was the brother of the late Dr. Harry Srabian and Dian Srabian.

His funeral and burial in Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, will be private, at the convenience of the family.  Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607, would be appreciated.
